Dollar, euro and yuan: three global currencies looking for a gravitational balance) 

This intervention analyzes the role of alternative finance within the global economic context, with particular attention to the dynamics of financial markets. In light of the evident dominance of finance over the real economy, the lack of a regulatory system for cryptocurrencies in Europe constitutes an urgent issue that can no longer be postponed. The analysis develops by considering key economic indicators, such as global wealth distribution, public debt, and the areas of influence of the three main currencies: the Dollar, the Euro, and the Yuan. The intervention then focuses on the factors determining the hegemonic role of the dollar, now challenged by the rise of the yuan, particularly in the commercial and financial spheres. It analyzes the financial and technological infrastructures underlying the three currencies examined. Finally, the intervention focuses on the financial architecture of the Eurozone, analyzing the issues posed by the divergence in interest rates between member states and the future of Eurobonds. It is evident that only effective financial regulation at the European level can preserve Europe’s global influence in an economic context characterized by rapid changes and increasingly complex geopolitical challenges.
